ABOUT THE DOLL ARTIST/Facts

ABOUT THE ARTIST

I have a background in arts and crafts of all kinds.
I studied dress designing right out high school and then cosmetology. I worked for years as a licensed hairdresser specializing in coloring, cutting, and styling. I competed in shows for makeup artistry and dress design.

 I now design
custom heirloom portrait dolls.

I have experience in oil painting, acrylics, faux finishing, furniture restoration, window treatment, reupholstering, home decorating, sewing, pattern drafting, crocheting, knitting, macrame' & many other crafts.
I trained myself in the art of Doll making over the last 5 years.

Below is a beautiful doll I designed from vinyl parts. She is a serene peaceful sleeping beauty.

She has a doeskin hand made jointed soft cloth body stuffed
with the highest quality fiberfill, fat pellets and weighted
beads to give a realistic feel.
She has hand rooted hair and eyelashes made from a combination of high quality premium mohair and human hair. She looks just like a friend's baby pictures.

I specialize in
Beautiful Hair...and Realistic looking faces...

Being a hairdresser for many years and specializing in Cutting,
Styling, Coloring and Makeup I devised a special technique that incorporates several colors, textures, and types of hair TOGETHER.... a typical combination in a head of real hair.
My goal is to achieve the MANAGEABILITY in a natural head of human hair.
Many of the dolls you will see on this site have already been sold.

Those that are available now can be found on the
Available Dolls page.

TIPS ON ENJOYING
AND DISPLAYING YOUR DOLL

  1. Many dress their dolls in a favorite outfit.
  2. Display the doll in an antique airloom-stroller, chair, basket, bassinet, highchair, or rocking horse.
  3. Display them on your bed or a child's bed or in a china closet.
  4. They can be sitting up, lying down sleeping, posed in a cute spot anywhere in a room.
  5. Because the dolls are jointed at the hips and shoulders they are fairly poseable. Also their hair can be moistened and gently styled...
  6. Because the hair is hand rooted and permanently sealed it can be managed like real hair.
